Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip with shredded chicken and blue cheese in a shallow baking dish

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip combines shredded cooked chicken, cream cheese, Buffalo-style hot sauce, ranch dressing, and blue cheese in one warm baked party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 package 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cayenne Buffalo-style hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles

Instructions

Prepare the oven and baking dish:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Set a shallow 1-quart baking dish nearby.

Mix the creamy Buffalo base:

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Add the hot sauce and ranch dressing and stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.

Fold in the chicken and cheese:

  1. Add the shredded cooked chicken and blue cheese. Fold gently until the chicken is evenly coated without breaking it down excessively.

Spread the dip evenly:

  1. Transfer the mixture to the shallow baking dish and smooth it into an even layer with the spatula.

Bake until thoroughly hot:

  1. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the dip is heated through. Stir gently before serving.
CHEF’S TIP
Soften the cream cheese before mixing to prevent dense unmixed pieces.
When preparing the dip ahead, cover and refrigerate it in the baking dish, then allow additional heating time if it goes into the oven chilled.
Store serving chips, crackers, or vegetables separately so they remain crisp.
