Crispy Baked Chicken Wings with garlic chili seasoning and simple dipping vegetables

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

Garlic, chili powder, olive oil, and simple seasonings coat these oven-baked chicken wings before they bake until crisp for an easy game-day appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic pressed
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 10 chicken wings

Instructions

Prepare the oven and seasoning:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, pressed garlic, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly mixed.

Coat the wings:

  1. Add the chicken wings and toss thoroughly until every piece is coated with the garlic-and-chili oil mixture.

Arrange the baking sheet:

  1. Place the seasoned wings in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet, leaving space between pieces and avoiding overlaps.

Bake until crisp:

  1. Bake for about 30 minutes, continuing up to 45 minutes for larger wings if needed, until the skin is crisp and browned and the chicken reaches at least 165°F in the meatiest portion without touching bone.

Serve hot:

  1. Transfer the wings to a platter and serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauces and crisp vegetables if desired.
CHEF’S TIP
Keep the wings in a single uncrowded layer so the surfaces can brown more evenly.
Wing size varies, so use a food thermometer rather than relying only on baking time.
For larger game-day batches, use additional baking sheets instead of overcrowding one pan.
