Honey BBQ Chicken Tenders with a Sticky Summer Glaze

Chicken tenders are coated in flour, egg wash, and seasoned bread crumbs, then baked until golden and brushed with a warm honey BBQ glaze.

Ingredients
  

Chicken Tenders
  • 2 pounds chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper.
  2. Place flour in a shallow bowl, then roll chicken tenders in it until coated.
  3. Prepare two separate bowls. In one bowl, whisk together egg and milk. In the second bowl, mix bread crumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip chicken pieces into the egg wash, then into the seasoned bread crumbs. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all chicken tenders.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until cooked through.
  6. Meanwhile, heat BBQ sauce, ketchup, and honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Whisk until smooth.
  7. When chicken is done, brush the tenders with warm sauce and serve.

Notes

Brush the glaze on after baking for the best texture.
Serve extra warm sauce on the side if desired.
Flip halfway through baking for even browning.
