Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 6 cups ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Add the watermelon cubes to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove pulp.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat.
  4. Add the sugar syrup to the pitcher with the watermelon juice.
  5. Stir in the cold water and fresh lemon juice.
  6. Add the ice cubes, mix well, and serve cold.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for the best natural sweetness.
Stir before serving because watermelon juice can settle.
Add ice close to serving to avoid watering down the drink.
